As a Communications Assistant, Bruna Tomsic deals with promoting Healthwatch Northamptonshire's work by drafting press releases, managing social media and website posts, creating media campaigns, as well as publishing monthly newsletters. If you have a story which you think might be of interest to Healthwatch Northamptonshire, please don't hesitate to get in touch, we want your voice heard.
Besides that, Bruna is currently studying BA Multimedia Journalism at the University of Northampton. She has a passion for health stories because she feels like they can really make a difference to someone's life. With a wide range of work experience obtained, such as the BBC Radio Leicester and NHS Confederation Press Office, she is dedicated to inform people about what is going on in their communities and beyond. As a result, with the help of her University colleagues she created the "Glass of Joy" positive news website, where she was a Health & Wellbeing Editor. Some of her proudest achievements so far would have to be the work around raising awareness of genetic disorders. Her story about a non-verbal 9-year old Heidi who has a BPAN disorder was picked up by the BBC. As a result, more people have donated to the crowd funding page, giving hope that the cure will be found sooner, rather than later.
She originally comes from sunny Croatia, likes to drink coffee (sometimes a bit too much!) and is a bit reluctant to eating brussel sprouts.
