Award-winning Young Healthwatch group is launching the new survey to find out more about young people’s emotional wellbeing in Northamptonshire
Our YHWN volunteers are launching the new emotional wellbeing survey on behalf of local health care and wellbeing providers.
We believe the emotional wellbeing of young people is just as important as their physical health, as it allows children and young people to develop ways to cope with whatever life throws at them and grow into well-rounded, healthy adults.
Some of the questions that the group is trying to find out are related to the awareness and support provided for young people who may struggle, and to find out whether any improvements are needed in terms of the way how they can access wellbeing services.
Good emotional wellbeing includes: being happy and confident and not anxious or depressed, the ability to problem-solve and manage emotions, having good relationships with others...
Last month, the YHWN group won the Investing in Children award and was the first group in the county to receive it.
The survey results will be used to shape and inform emotional wellbeing services locally.
We would welcome any local colleges, youth groups and schools to take part in this project. Please contact our Healthwatch Officer, Esther Stimpson on 07376130329. The emotional wellbeing survey is for people between the ages of 11 and 19 living in Northamptonshire and will run until 25 May.
