Transport and Car schemes

Oundle Volunteer Car Scheme
Voluntary car schemes operate with volunteer drivers using their own vehicles to take passengers to pre-booked destinations. These are often for medical appointments, but can also be for other reasons. Volunteer Action Community Transport will help people with no reasonable means of transport to local heath and care services.
Community Transport schemes
Community transport schemes provide a responsive transport service for a wide range of people and communities – often the most vulnerable. They are operated by not-for-profit organisations and harness the experience and energy of volunteers who give freely of their time to help others. Community transport has the potential particularly to meet local needs in areas where conventional commercial operations are not viable.
The Northamptonshire ACRE Directory of Northamptonshire Community and Voluntary Transport Providers lists all the providers in the county, the villages they serve, opening hours, contact details and costs. Get a copy by contacting acre@northantsacre.org.uk or tel. 01604 765888.
