Social Prescribing Link Workers (SPLW)

Link workers are based in GP surgeries and available for anyone registered with local practices to have someone to talk to if they are feeling lonely, isolated, anxious, or just having difficulty coping. They are there to listen and can signpost to other relevant services and help.

Anyone registered with Towcester Medical Centre; Brook Health Centre; Springfield Surgery or Brackley Health Centre can self- refer to SPLW Tessa Matthews or contact reception at their GP practice,

  • Or contact your GP's surgery reception for further information - you do not need to see your GP to be referred to Tessa.

Anyone registered at Grange Park, Blisworth, Roade, Hanslope, Wootton and Denton surgeries can contact reception at their GP practice or

Changing Minds

Support anyone over the age of 17 and a half living in Northamptonshire who is feeling stressed, low in mood or has mild to moderate depression and/or an anxiety disorder. Can offer computerised cognitive behavioural therapy, online wellbeing groups or telephone support. Running a series of COVID-19: managing anxiety on-line webinars, register for on-line.

Stress Control classes are usually run through the NHS and HSE within communities.

Renew 169 Café Towcester Mental health and wellbeing support: Monday zoom session at 2:00pm for coffee and catch up. Tuesday zoom session at 2:00pm incorporates various joint activities including craft sessions.
