Community Engagement; Carnival 2023
We are proud to share our impactful experience at this year’s Northampton Carnival, which was held at the Racecourse on June 10th 2023.
This annual festival is held to highlight the cultures of Northampton’s diverse community, with a focus on those with Caribbean heritage. The event featured local organisations from the area, who were present to share their messages and engage with the public.
We were able to spend valuable time interacting and gathering experiences and feedback from the service users within our community. We spoke with over 100 people, and heard about their views of health and social care, as well as wellbeing. Themes which we identified were general practices, waiting times and appointments, and healthy eating and weight. It was great to be present and see individuals face to face, while celebrating diversity and different cultures.
