Healthwatch Northamptonshire and Corby Clinical Commissioning Group reopen discussions about the future of Corby Urgent Care Centre
The Chairs of Corby CCG and Healthwatch Northamptonshire and the Chief Executives have met to review the outcome of the recent Judicial Review of Corby Urgent Care Centre and have agreed on the importance of working together to ensure a resolution which meets the needs of the residents of Corby and the surrounding area, engaging actively with residents.
Following the meeting, Dr Joanne Watt, Clinical Chair, said:
“Corby CCG’s primary concern is to ensure that we meet our responsibilities to local people and is committed to engaging with local residents to explore options which will take account of their views.”
Dr David N Jones, Chair of Healthwatch Northamptonshire said:
“Healthwatch Northamptonshire recognises that difficult decisions have to be made about the allocation of health resources. We all recognise that local people need to be actively involved in decision-making, and there are clearly lessons to be learned about exactly how this has been done in Corby. We look forward to supporting the CCG in addressing this.”
